3、主機正常運行時潤滑油形成的油膜使螺桿與螺桿之間不直接接觸。螺桿空壓機主機需要進行大修的原因：隨著空壓機運行時間的推移，主機各個軸承必然會發(fā)生磨損，從而導致螺桿產(chǎn)生軸向竄動及徑向位移增大，該變化會讓螺桿與螺桿之間、螺桿與主機殼體及前后端面之間的間隙發(fā)生變化。這些間隙變化在軸承壽命期限內(nèi)是正常的、允許的，而由此產(chǎn)生的空壓機產(chǎn)氣量衰減及主電機負荷增加也是正常的、允許的。隨著機組運行時間接近主機大修期，主機軸承的壽命逐漸趨進于最大允許時限。此時螺桿軸向和徑向竄動量逐漸趨進于最大設計允許值，該變化會讓螺桿與螺桿之間、螺桿與主機殼體及前后端面之間的間隙發(fā)生較大的變化。此時主機運行雖然仍然是安全的，但是已經(jīng)到了必須考慮計劃安排對主機進行大修的時候了。因為一旦機組運行時間越過大修期后，軸承磨損及主機配合間隙就到達了主機技術條件允許的極限值，此時的主機就處于不安全的運行狀態(tài)，就隨時有可能發(fā)生如下嚴重后果：

1、主機運行負荷增大，對主電機及電器系統(tǒng)造成危害主機螺桿之間、螺桿與前后端面之間、螺桿與主機殼體之間可能出現(xiàn)的的強烈磨擦會使得主機運行負荷急劇增加，另外嚴重磨損的軸承的運轉(zhuǎn)負荷也是很大的。如此一來，電機就會處

于超負荷的工作狀態(tài)，會嚴重地危及電機的安全運行。情況嚴重的話，如果空壓機組的電器保護裝置反應不靈敏或失效，則還可能導致電機燒毀。
