油氣分離器是油和氣分離開來的一種裝置。

油氣分離元件是決定空壓機壓縮空氣品質的關鍵部件，高質量的油氣分離元件不僅可保證壓縮機的高效率工作，且濾芯壽命可達數千小時。從壓縮機頭出來的壓縮空氣夾帶大大小小的油滴。大油滴通過油氣分離罐時易分離，而小油滴（直徑1um以下懸浮油微粒）則必須通過油氣分離濾芯的微米及玻纖濾料層過濾。油微粒經過濾材的擴散作用，直接被濾材攔截以及慣性碰撞凝聚等機理，使壓縮空氣中的懸浮油微粒很快凝聚成大油滴，在重力作用下油集聚在油分芯底部，通過底部凹處回油管進口返回機頭潤滑油系統，從而使壓縮機排出更加純凈無油的壓縮空氣。壓縮空氣中的固體粒子經過油分芯時滯留在過濾層中，這就導致了油分芯壓差（阻力）不斷增加。隨著油分芯使用時間增長，當油分芯壓差達到0.08到0.1Mpa時，濾芯必須更換，否則增加壓縮機運行成本（耗電）。
