技術(shù)數(shù)據(jù)：
  測試密度能指出材料成份上的變化或產(chǎn)品的瑕疵，例如裂縫或氣泡。
在鋁鑄造廠熔解質(zhì)量是經(jīng)由二個(gè)環(huán)境的樣品加以監(jiān)測，一是在空氣壓力下、另是一在80 mbar壓力下。一旦他們?cè)O(shè)置并且冷卻，測定樣品的密度，兩個(gè)密度值的比率是提供熔解純度的重要依據(jù)。
產(chǎn)品的抗壓或抗拉強(qiáng)度與整體密度的相對(duì)關(guān)系，大型零件不能分割測試，在分割測試時(shí)斷切面的影響會(huì)造成密度測量上的不準(zhǔn)確。
