本儀器是一臺面板式四位數字顯示專用測速儀表，采用CNOS集成電路和LED數字顯示器，具有體積小，重量輕，安裝方便等優點，它可以與SZMB-3，SZNB-5等多種磁電傳感器配套使用，當配用SZMB-4磁電傳感或SZMB-4A光電傳感器時，儀表與傳感器的傳輸線長度可增加到50m，儀表在抗干擾性能上亦采取相應措施并具有連續使用特點，特別適宜于測量工業現場動力設備的轉速。
