NATIONAL OIL SEALS是1920年由LIoyd A.Johnson創(chuàng)立的，專(zhuān)門(mén)從事油封、墊圈墊片的生產(chǎn)，在當(dāng)時(shí)就已經(jīng)是美國(guó)最大的油封生產(chǎn)廠家之一，為汽車(chē)和飛機(jī)的主要配套油封工廠。于1956年被Federal-Mogul攬于旗下。F-M公司是一家綜合性的汽車(chē)零配件廠家，從1899年成立至今，通過(guò)不斷的發(fā)展和并購(gòu)，擁有了一系列的汽車(chē)零部件品牌，產(chǎn)品包括軸瓦、引擎、雨刷、火花塞、軸承、油封、活塞環(huán)、制動(dòng)系統(tǒng)、墊圈和底盤(pán)系統(tǒng)等等，成為了全球領(lǐng)先的汽車(chē)零部件供應(yīng)商。
NATIONAL油封的制造基地
NATIONAL油封制造基地從剛創(chuàng)立時(shí)的San Francisco， 至1942年搬到Redwood City，再后搬至Summerton和Mexico City，現(xiàn)已把制造重心放在了MEXICO CITY。這就是為什么油封上會(huì)標(biāo)注為USA和MX的緣故。除此兩處之外，NATIONAL油封再也沒(méi)有其它的制造基地了。
NATIONAL油封的發(fā)展歷程

NATIONAL油封的常用型式
NATIONAL油封在中國(guó)市場(chǎng)上常見(jiàn)的型式如左所示的截面圖。油封分內(nèi)包骨架油封和外露骨架油封，帶自緊彈簧式和無(wú)自緊彈簧式。但NATIONAL油封最主要以外露骨架為主，常用的有41、45、47、48系列。外骨架油封相對(duì)于內(nèi)骨架油封來(lái)言，剛性好、定位準(zhǔn)確、同軸度高、導(dǎo)熱散熱好、加工精度高、要求膠與金屬之間有較高的粘合強(qiáng)度。如右圖所示。
NATIONAL油封的特征
而NATIONAL油封與其它品牌的最大不同之處，就是在鐵殼外圈的外徑上噴涂了紅色的REDICOAT專(zhuān)用涂漆，一方面可以區(qū)別其它品牌的顏色，另一方面，也是最主要的方面，鐵殼外徑噴涂紅漆可增加外徑的密封性能，可填充裝配孔腔表面之缺陷或刮痕，避免密封流體由外徑泄漏。這種REDICOAT涂漆，對(duì)孔腔面的加工光潔度就有所放松，允許有較大的表面粗糙度，同樣起到內(nèi)骨架油封（外徑包有橡膠）的密封效果。
