上海磨床M1420A/H外圓磨床系列適宜于磨削直徑在φ200mm內的圓柱形或圓錐形的回轉體工件的內外圓，適用于機械加工車間、工具車間 、機修車間等單件、小批零件加工。
上海磨床M1420A/H外圓磨床系列的機床分為通用型、精密型（MM）、半自動型（MB）幾種類型，可根據用戶需要選擇。
M1420A/H外圓磨床采用后置式內圓磨具，其他系列均為前置式。MM1420/H砂輪架采用套筒式靜承，并且采用獨立油箱及獨立的供油系統，大大提高了磨削精度，其他均為動承結構，切削力強。
機床縱向移動由液壓無級傳動，也可用手輪傳動。橫向移動具有液壓快速進退和手動微量進給。半自動型橫向進給有切入半自動循環和周期半自動循環功能，也可用手輪進給。

一、螺桿泵的轉速選用 MA1420A上海第三機床廠H3LB-25磨床外圓磨螺桿泵

螺桿泵的流量與轉速成線性關系，相對于低轉速的螺桿泵，高轉速的螺桿泵雖能增加了流量和揚程，但功率明顯增大，高轉速加速了轉子與定子間的磨耗，必定使螺桿泵過早失效，而且高轉速螺桿泵的定轉子長度很短，極易磨損，因而縮短了螺桿泵的使用壽命。
